Abbaye de Saint Sixtus - Westvleteren
The History of the Abbey of Saint Sixtus begins in 1831 with some Cistercian Trappist monks from the Monastery of the Monts de Cats who founded the priory. It was not until 1871 that the abbey was built.
In 2005, Westvletern beer produced by Saint Sixtus Abbey was voted the best beer in the world, and remained there for a few years.

Abbaye Notre Dame de Saint Benoît
The Abbey Notre Dame de Saint Benoît is located in the village of Hammont-Achel. The Trappist brewery was created in 1852 within the walls of the abbey. During World War II, all the equipment of this brewery was dismantled by the Germans. It was in 1998 that the brewery was reassembled and new beers were produced under the impulse of Brother Thomas of the Trappist brewery of Westmalle and Brother Antoine of the Trappist brewery Rochefort.

It was in 1933 that Charles Caulier opened his beer shop in the Belgian town of Bonsecours. In 1994, three generations later, Roger and Linda Caulier form the Brasserie Caulier, and brews the first Bon Secours.
Nowadays, the children of Roger and Linda have joined the brewery, which still produces the Bon Secours but also the very good Paix Dieu Beer.

La Brasserie Lindemans fut créée en 1822, par le famille Lindemans. La brasserie est depuis spécialisé dans le Gueuze et la Kriek. C'est en 1978, que fut produit la Faro ( bière au sucre candy ), puis la Framboise en 1980 et pour finir la Cassis et la Pecheresse ( bière lambic à base de pêches ).
Aujourd'hui la brasserie est détenue par Dirk et Geert Lindemans.

John Martin, un anglais, créa à 23 ans sa première société, nommée John Martin, à Anvers en Belgique. C'est lui qui eu la distribution en Europe du Schweppes Indian Tonic et de la célèbre Guinness. En 1924 la société John Martin crée la marque Gordon Scotch Ale.
Dans les années 1988, le groupe achète les jus de fruit Looza et redinamise le marché du Scweppes. Dans les années 1990, la société rachète la Brasserie Timmermans avec les marques qu'elle possède comme la Bourgogne des Flandre.

Moortgat Brewery was founded in 1871 by Jan- Leonard Moortgat . It was after the First World War that the famous Duvel beer was created. Originally it was called the Victory Ale and it was dubbed nen echten duvel ( " a real devil" ) and finished by Duvel will call.
Today Brewery Mortgaat markets the Maredsous, the Vedett , La Chouffe and Fruitesse.

La Brasserie Palm fut créée en 1747 sous le nom de la brasserie De Hoorn, puis avec le temps la Brasserie Palm. La brasserie s'accrocha à la fabrication de bières à fermentation haute, alors que la mode était à la bière Pils.
Lors de la première guerre mondiale, la Brasserie Palm fut entièrement détruite. Mais Arthur Van Roy, le propriétaire de l'époque, la reconstruira et l'agrandira immédiatement. En 1929, la brasserie renomma sa bière de Steenhuffe en Speciale Palm.

C'est Alexandre Rodenbach qui achète, en 1820, une petite brasserie, qui deviendra la Brasserie Rodenbach. La brasserie restera dans la même famille jusqu'en 1998, date du rachat de la Brasserie Rodenbach par la Brasserie Palm.
