The Brasserie Moortgat was created in 1871 by Jan-Leonard Moortgat. It was after the First World War that the famous Duvel beer was created. Originally named Victory Ale, it was nicknamed nen echten duvel ("a real devil") and ended up being called Duvel. Today the Brasserie Mortgaat sells Maredsous, La Vedett, La Chouffe and Fruitesse.
Liefman's Fruitesse is a beer from Kriek Liefman's blend and strawberry, raspberry, cherry and elderberry juice. It is a sparkling, refreshing beer with fruity aromas.
