The history of the brewery began in 1984 with Steve Hindy fan of homebrewing, he left his job to found The Brooklyn Brewery. His first beer was the Brooklyn Lager. In 1994, the brewery hired brewmaster Garrett Oliver to design the new brewery and new recipes.
