Brasserie d'Orval, located within the grounds of the Abbey, was founded in 1931 to finance the huge project of reconstruction of Orval. It has, from the beginning of the secular hired labor, the first master brewer, Pappenheimer, the origin of the recipe. Trade policy of the brewery is adjusted to the values lived by the monastic community. The revenues of the brand are dedicated to social work and building maintenance.
The Orval is a high fermentation beer and fermented in the bottle. It is a Trappist beer, the blonde dress. Its aromas are complex, slightly tart with a soft bitterness. A beer with a nice balance!
