The Cistercian monks of Chimay Trappist develop since 1862 the production of Belgian Trappist beers and cheeses. Their character and qualities, experienced and always with great success. Chimay is an authentic Trappist beer, that is to say, it is brewed within a Trappist monastery of, under the control and responsibility of the monastic community and whose main income is spent social assistance. Brewery produces 4 types of beer, Chimay Red, blue, and golden triple. The abbey also produces cheese.
At one time or Chimay Dorée was reserved only to monks of the Abbey of Scourmont or civilians working there. Those days are gone, because now this beer is out of the Abbey of Chimay! The Golden Chiamy is a light beer, but strong character. It is hoppy, spicy and refreshing!
